Role:
Bay Area Learning Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Afterschool Center Lead Teacher to guide and inspire 3rd-5th grade students in our Millbrae, CA location. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary-aged children in a fun, structured afterschool environment. Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a classroom of 3rd-5th grade students in a dynamic afterschool setting Plan and implement engaging academic support activities, homework help, and enrichment programs Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, tutors, or interns Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and program coordinators regarding student progress Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement strategies Ensure student safety and well-being throughout all program activities
Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting Strong classroom management and leadership skills Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff Must pass a background check and meet California childcare compliance requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
