An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

About Our School We are a private Montessori school looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Social Studies Teacher to join our team. Our elementary program serves students in Grades 1-5 , with class sizes of approximately 20-25 students . Position Responsibilities Teach Social Studies and Geography to students in Grades 1-5. Develop and deliver age-appropriate lessons that support students across a range of grade levels and abilities. Incorporate hands-on learning, arts and crafts, projects, and creative activities into instruction. Help students develop an understanding of geography, history, cultures, communities, and social studies concepts. Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment. Demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to establish clear expectations and routines. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and school-wide activities. Participate in staff meetings, school events, and other school responsibilities as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Strong knowledge of Social Studies and Geography curriculum. Comfortable teaching students across multiple elementary grade levels. Ability to incorporate arts, crafts, hands-on activities, and projects into lessons. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a structured and positive learning environment. Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player . Must be willing to complete required fingerprinting/background clearance . ECE units and/or an AA or BA in Education preferred/required based on applicable position and licensing requirements. Montessori experience or familiarity with Montessori education is a plus. Schedule Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:30 PM What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can balance structure, classroom expectations, creativity, and hands-on learning .
