An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school's curriculum
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment for students
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning atmosphere
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement educational programs
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student performance and address any concerns
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and resources to meet the diverse needs of students
- Incorporate technology into lessons to enhance learning opportunities
- Organize school events and performances for school functions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license
- Experience working with elementary school students,
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of math, literacy education, and curriculum development
- Ability to work with students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Familiarity with library services and resources for supporting literacy development
- Excellent classroom management skills
