An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Job Summary Our ideal candidate is an energetic, outgoing person with high standards who enjoys working with students. She/he would work under the immediate supervision of the site administrator and would provide an instructional program to pupils in first grade. The applicant must be interested in developing hands-on, relevant curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking to serve the needs of our diverse student population in a small classroom setting. The applicant must also be committed to participating as a dedicated team member, interested in multi-discipline collaboration, willing to continue professional development, and be committed to getting involved in our school community.
Requirements / Qualifications
One of the following California credentials and ELL Authorization (CLAD). Bilingual Spanish is preferred. ? Multiple Subjects Credentials (P, K-12 and adults) ? PK-3 Early Childhood Education (ECE) ?

Specialist Instruction Credential ? General Kindergarten-Primary (K-3) ? General Elementary (K-8) ? Standard Early Childhood (P-3) ? Standard Elementary (K-9) ?
