Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 5th Grade Teacher to inspire and guide students through a pivotal stage of their educational journey. In this role, you will create a vibrant learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop essential skills in literacy, math, science, social studies, and more, preparing them for future academic success. As a key member of our educational community, you will implement innovative teaching strategies, support diverse learners, and promote positive classroom experiences that encourage growth and confidence. Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects including literacy education, math, science, social studies, and physical education. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences. Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive behavior management techniques to create a safe and respectful environment. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation. Provide individualized support and tutoring to students needing extra help in areas such as reading, writing skills, or mathematics. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and integrate special education strategies for students with diverse needs. Mentor new teachers or interns by sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and early childhood education principles. Incorporate library services and resources into lessons to promote literacy and research skills among students. Support early intervention efforts for students with autism or other special needs by adapting teaching methods accordingly. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and upcoming assessments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; state certification as a 5th Grade Teacher is required. Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in diverse settings. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating learning technology tools. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to foster positive learning environments. Ability to work effectively with students who have special needs or are receiving early intervention services. Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and literacy education methodologies. Skills in proofreading, writing skills, tutoring, mentoring, and library services are highly valued. Prior private school experience or Montessori training is a plus but not required. Pay:
$62,179.10 - $74,882.35 per year
