OVERVIEW

With growing enrollment, Saint James School has several lead teacher openings for the 2026-27 year at the elementary level. We are opening additional classrooms in: kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. Candidates MUST have a love for working with elementary-age children, be kind, caring, and patient. RESPONSIBILITIES

It is not meant to be all-inclusive of every task or responsibility) Demonstrates effective planning skills by preparing engaging lessons designed to implement stated objectives Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning Demonstrates competence in teaching by having current knowledge of subject matter Demonstrates strong management skills aligned with an approach that includes: intentional language, growth mindset approaches, firm and clear boundaries, and empathy (we are aligned with Responsive Classroom) Embraces and implements developmentally appropriate practices based on the age of the children in their classroom Can communicate and connect effectively with children Has the ability to organize an engaging and effective classroom learning environment Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in education Encourages parental involvement and ensures effective communication with children and parents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Education or a related discipline to teaching assignment Have or are willing to obtain a Valid State Teaching Certification in the appropriate grade level and/or subject Loves teaching and working with children! Believes in God

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
