JOB OVERVIEW
Excel Christian Academy Elementary Teachers reflect the mission and purpose of the school by honoring Christ in every class, interaction, and activity. Teachers are responsible for cultivating strong relationships with students that build confidence, independence, and academic mastery while guiding students toward a personal relationship with Christ and equipping them to Biblically respond to culture. Elementary Teachers instruct students in foundational academic subjects including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies while integrating Biblical principles and a Christian worldview throughout the curriculum. Teachers will follow the prescribed curriculum and scope and sequence as directed by school administration while creating engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of each child. Excel Christian Academy Elementary Teachers are also expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student wellness by implementing wellness lessons within curricular studies , encouraging healthy habits, emotional awareness, and positive social development. Teachers must consistently model and promote the school's core values of Creativity, Generosity, Growth, Gratitude, Honor, Excellence, and Diversity in the classroom and throughout the school community.TERMS Contracted by:

Teacher performance will be evaluated within the first 90 days of employment and periodically thereafter. Evaluations will be conducted using this job description in conjunction with the Faculty Handbook and school policies.PERSONAL QUALITIES

The Elementary Teacher shall prayerfully guide students in developing the attitudes, skills, and knowledge necessary to become confident, responsible, and Christ-centered individuals. Teachers will intentionally nurture strong relationships with students and create a classroom environment that supports confidence, independence, academic mastery, and spiritual development. Elementary teachers play a critical role in establishing strong academic foundations, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills, while fostering curiosity and a love of learning.QUALIFICATIONS
Active Christian who feels called to the ministry of Christian education. Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field (preferred). Experience teaching elementary-aged students (preferred). Demonstrated ability to create engaging and structured classroom environments for young learners. Ability to integrate Biblical principles into daily instruction. Must meet all applicable Florida educational and childcare requirements, including DCF training requirements where applicable.ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to establish positive relationships with young students. Strong classroom management skills appropriate for elementary-age children. Ability to differentiate instruction for varied learning abilities. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with fellow teachers and school leadership. Encourage academic perseverance and independent learning habits. Provide additional support or enrichment as needed to help students achieve mastery. Wellness Integration Demonstrate a commitment to student wellness through classroom practices and instruction. Facilitate wellness lessons within curricular studies that promote physical health, emotional awareness, positive relationships, and responsible decision-making. Encourage healthy habits, emotional regulation, kindness, and respect among students. Classroom Environment and Management Maintain a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment. Establish consistent routines and expectations appropriate for elementary students. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space. Encourage positive student behavior through guidance and reinforcement. Planning and Assessment Develop lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs. Assess student learning regularly using a variety of assessment tools. Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student progress records. Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress. Communication and Parent Partnership Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Inform parents and administration of academic or behavioral concerns promptly. Recognize parents as partners in their child's education and work collaboratively with them to support student success. Professional Responsibilities Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events. Participate in school activities, programs, and community-building events. Follow Biblical principles such as Matthew 18 when addressing conflict or concerns. Seek guidance and collaboration with administration and colleagues when needed.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO FULFILL THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS JOB
Student Supervision Teachers must actively supervise students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and school activities. Mobility Teachers must be able to move throughout the campus, escort students between classrooms and activity areas, and supervise outdoor activities. Classroom Instruction Teachers must be able to write on whiteboards, prepare instructional displays, and utilize classroom technology. Communication and Documentation Teachers must prepare lesson plans, maintain student records, and communicate regularly with parents and administration. Playground and Outdoor Supervision Teachers must supervise students outdoors in typical Florida weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and occasional inclement weather. Emergency Response Teachers must be able to summon assistance quickly during emergencies and provide basic first aid when necessary.Pay:
