An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Responsible for instructing students in an elementary school classroom. Creates lesson plans, administers praise and constructive criticism, instructs students on subjects such as reading and language arts, science, social studies, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals Maintain grade books Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed Create projects designed to enhance instruction Research and read content in the education field to stay abreast of current topics in education Understand the importance of data driven instruction Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures Other responsibilities as requiredJob Type:
