Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for 2nd and 3rd grade students, incorporating literacy education, math, science, social studies, and technology integration. Manage classroom activities to promote active participation, positive behavior management, and a respectful learning environment. Use assessment tools including standardized testing and formative assessments to monitor student progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Provide individualized tutoring and support for students with special education needs or those requiring early intervention strategies. Incorporate learning technology and library services to enrich lessons and foster digital literacy skills. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educational specialists to ensure holistic support for each child's development. Mentor students in social-emotional skills, physical education activities, and classroom routines to build confidence and independence. Requirements Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in a learning pod or similar setting. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and working with individuals with autism or special needs. Excellent communication skills for engaging students, families, and team members effectively. Familiarity with teaching physical education, tutoring strategies, standardized testing procedures, and early intervention programs. Proficiency in learning technology tools and educational software to enhance instruction. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics through effective classroom management strategies.
