Kindergarten Teacher American Youth Academy is an Islamic-based private school located in Tampa, Florida, one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. Full-Time, Salary, Exempt, 12 Months Reports to: Early Childhood Principal Job Goal Under the direction of the Early Childhood Principal in carrying out the school's academic program, the teacher is responsible for providing an engaging instructional program that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of Kindergarten students. The teacher will create a flexible classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning while making instructional decisions based on student data in a safe, productive, and Islamic learning environment. • 20% Position Overview Create and implement a flexible Kindergarten program and classroom environment that promotes student learning and personal growth.

Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with school learning standards and developmentally appropriate practices. Establish effective relationships with students, staff members, and parents while fostering foundational academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills. Responsibilities will be added depending on demonstrated knowledge and the ability to learn. Major Responsibilities and Duties Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with school learning standards. Provide instruction in early literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, handwriting, and social-emotional learning. Foster curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning through hands-on, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning experiences. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students. Assess student learning through formal and informal assessments while providing meaningful feedback to students and parents. Create a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student success. Encourage positive behavior through consistent classroom management and PBIS strategies. Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student growth and achievement. Coordinate classroom activities, field trips, and special events as appropriate. Maintain accurate and complete student records. Keep current with instructional best practices and participate in professional development opportunities. Provide an inviting, exciting, and innovative learning environment. Demonstrate an understanding of young children's emotional, physical, intellectual, and social development. Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff. Candidate Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Early childhood Education or a related field preferred. Possess any required state teaching credentials or certifications and meet all applicable credentialing requirements. Ability to pass a criminal background investigation. Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire young learners. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate instructional practices. Teaching experience in a public or private school preferred.
