Part-Time Elementary History Teacher (Grades 2-6)2026-2027 School Year The Bilgrav School is seeking a passionate, engaging, and student-centered Part-Time Elementary History Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. This position focuses on teaching History to students in Grades 2-6 within a specialized school serving bright students with dyslexia. The ideal candidate enjoys bringing history to life through storytelling, hands-on projects, discussions, literature, and interactive learning experiences. About The Bilgrav School The Bilgrav School serves students with dyslexia in grades K-8 through evidence-based instruction and a highly individualized approach to learning. Our collaborative team works together to help students access rigorous academic content while developing the literacy skills necessary for lifelong success. Key Responsibilities Teach History to students in Grades 2-6. Create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that make history meaningful and memorable. Incorporate hands-on activities, projects, historical literature, and discussion-based learning. Differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of students with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records. Prepare quarterly narrative progress reports. Participate in parent conferences and maintain ongoing communication with families. Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and school-wide academic goals. Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Teaching certification preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience. Elementary school teaching experience preferred. Experience working with students with dyslexia or language-based learning differences preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and build meaningful relationships with students and families. Flexible, collaborative, and growth-minded educator.
