Aug 1, 2026 Job Description Iowa Valley Community School District (located in Marengo, Iowa) is looking for a Primary (K, 1, 2) Classroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 year. This person will foster academic, social, and emotional development of young students. Key responsibilities include creating engaging lesson plans for core subjects (reading, math, science), assessing student progress, managing classroom behavior, and communicating regularly with parents. You will also ensure a safe, inclusive environment while preparing students for future educational stages. Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction:

Develop, plan, and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans covering subjects like literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies.

Assessment & Recording:

Evaluate student performance through tests, assignments, and formative assessments, maintaining accurate records of progress.

Classroom Management:

Establish positive behavior routines, enforce classroom rules, and maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Communication & Collaboration:

Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress, collaborate with colleagues, and participate in school meetings.

Individualized Support:

Work with students individually or in small groups to support varied learning needs and abilities.

Safety & Supervision:

Oversee students during non-classroom time, including recess, lunch, or extracurricular activities. Working Conditions This role requires managing, educating, and supervising young children in a classroom setting. Responsibilities often require preparation time outside of school hours, including evenings and weekends for lesson planning and grading. Iowa Valley CSD is an EOE.
