An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities of a Montessori Lead Teacher Give presentations of Montessori materials to students Observe children and maintain your recordkeeping Lead and manage the classroom based on our school's guidelines and Montessori Philosophy Hold Parent-Teacher conferences twice a year Follow our school's discipline policy and health guidelines Conduct the classroom in a manner following the Montessori Method Collaborate with co-workers in a professional manner Take care of the classroom environment and didactic materials Lead line, movement and silence Education and Experience Requirements Must hold an AMS or AMI Early Childhood Montessori Credential Have at least 1-2 years of experience working in a Montessori school setting Experience working as a Montessori Lead Teacher not required Skills Required Must be able to speak to the parents about their child's progress and development in a professional manner Must be able to efficiently manage the classroom Must be able to work with the assistant teacher and other co-workers in the center in a professional and respectful manner
