Madison District Public Schools is seeking a caring, energetic, and highly qualified Kindergarten Teacher who is passionate about fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our youngest elementary students. The successful candidate will create meaningful learning experiences that support academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth while building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate elementary certification Competency in content area Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices for young learners Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff Commitment to equity, collaboration, and continuous professional growth Excellent written and verbal communication skillsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Michigan Academic Standards. Establish a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all learners. Assess student learning using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies and use data to guide instruction. Foster language development, early literacy, mathematics, and foundational learning skills. Implement effective classroom management practices that encourage positive student behavior. Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, interventionists, and other support personnel to meet student needs. Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and district initiatives.
