An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Elementary Afterschool Teacher Montessori Children's House is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Elementary Afterschool Teacher to join our child care program. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children and creating an engaging environment where students can play, explore, learn, and develop confidence and independence. Essential Functions Create a fun, engaging classroom environment that encourages play, exploration, creativity, and learning. Provide age- and developmentally appropriate expectations, guidance, and support. Plan and implement activities that promote children's self-esteem, independence, and social skills. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Support students' physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development. Provide positive guidance, encouragement, and reinforcement to help children develop appropriate behaviors and problem-solving skills. Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, families, coworkers, and management. Maintain effective communication with children, families, and staff. Support and uphold the mission, values, and educational philosophy of Montessori Children's House. Maintain a high level of professionalism and contribute positively to the school community. Qualifications & Experience Associate's degree or higher preferred/required. Minimum of two years of experience working in a child care or educational setting . A well-developed philosophy of early childhood and elementary education that aligns with the educational philosophy and values of Montessori Children's House. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Dependable, patient, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting children's growth and development.
