This is a part-time, hourly position for four weeks, from June 2nd to June 26th, with an additional four days of planning and professional development to be determined.Hours:

Exempt Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide individualized, research-based instruction aligned with each student's IEP goals and the Illinois Learning Standards, ensuring all instruction is designed for a four-hour instructional day, four days a week, totaling 16 instructional days. Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in core subjects, including reading, writing, and mathematics, tailored to the needs of students. Design and implement daily lessons that incorporate Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR) to enhance student engagement. Clearly communicate learning objectives, provide differentiated instruction, and ensure active student participation in all lessons. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports academic growth, social-emotional development, and student confidence. Support students in setting and achieving learning goals, engaging in reflection, and participating in interventions as needed. Collaborate with fellow educators, interventionists, and bilingual staff to align instruction with best practices and student needs. Integrate technology into instruction to enhance learning and provide interactive, student-centered experiences. Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and encourage family engagement in summer learning. Participate in professional learning communities to refine teaching strategies and contribute to school improvement efforts. Assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies to ensure student success. Perform other duties as assigned. The physical demands of an Extended School Year Teacher include the ability to remain active and engaged in various classroom and therapy settings for extended periods of time. Teachers must be able to stand, sit, and move throughout the classroom and school environment to provide individualized instruction and support to students. The position requires the ability to assist students with physical disabilities, which may involve lifting, positioning, or transferring students, often using assistive devices and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Teachers must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to assist students in activities, provide necessary interventions, and set up learning environments. Clear verbal communication is essential, requiring strong vocal projection to give instructions, model activities, and provide support during classroom or therapy sessions. Additionally, teachers must have the ability to manage classroom materials, including moving and organizing adaptive equipment, technology, and resources used for instruction. Teachers should also be prepared to respond quickly to students' needs, whether academic, behavioral, or emotional, while maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
