Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary English Teacher to join our team. The teacher will provide engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction that develops students' reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and communication skills. The teacher will create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment while helping students develop the academic skills, confidence, and habits needed to succeed in school and beyond. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based English Language Arts lessons for elementary students. Develop students' reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, phonics, grammar, writing, and communication skills. Prepare students to demonstrate proficiency on IREAD-3 and ILEARN assessments through standards-aligned instruction, purposeful practice, and ongoing assessment. Use student data, formative assessments, and classroom observations to identify learning needs and adjust instruction. Provide differentiated instruction and appropriate interventions to support students at different levels of achievement. Teach students how to read closely, identify key ideas and details, determine word meaning, make inferences, and use evidence from texts. Develop students' written responses through explicit instruction in organization, grammar, vocabulary, and use of textual evidence. Incorporate high-quality literature, informational texts, and authentic reading materials. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of academic performance. Provide timely feedback and communicate student progress with families. Collaborate with teachers, intervention staff, and school leadership to support student achievement. Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, effort, and a love of learning. Participate in professional development, team meetings, curriculum planning, and school activities. Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment. Support the school's academic goals, mission, and values. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, English/Language Arts, or a related field. Indiana teaching license or eligibility for Indiana licensure preferred. Strong knowledge of elementary literacy and reading instruction. Experience using student data to guide instruction preferred. Experience preparing students for IREAD and/or ILEARN assessments preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.
