An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Organization Details Organization Information The Bourbon County School System is located in Paris, KY, and is composed of three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school, serving 2,970 students, with a staff of 450. State test scores are top 25%. 76% of our teachers have a Master's Degrees, or above, with an average of over 10 years teaching experience. Our vision, "Student Centered Learning-The Road To Success", compels us to ensure that each teacher centers learning on student success. Our nationally recognized Preschool Center offers an integrated program for all 4-year olds, and eligible 3 year olds. The high school curriculum includes a wide variety of AP courses, dual credit, part-time college opportunities, Co-Op and Vocational Programs, and a full compliment of extracurricular activities.
