Job Description

Job Summary CMWA is seeking a motivated, analytical, and customer-focused Production Control Specialist to support production planning, scheduling, inventory management, customer requirements, capacity and operational studies, and continuous improvement. The employee must think critically, solve problems, work independently after training, and use operational data to recommend effective actions.   • Develop and maintain production schedules that support customer demand and operating objectives.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust schedules to support delivery commitments.
  • Track inventory, material availability, and production progress using PLEX and Microsoft Excel.
  • Coordinate priorities with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Communicate schedule status, constraints, risks, and recovery actions to internal and external customers.
  • Investigate shortages, interruptions, and production issues; analyze root causes and recommend practical solutions.
  • Perform capacity studies, forecasting support, inventory analysis, and other operational studies.
  • Identify and support improvements to scheduling accuracy, material flow, inventory control, productivity, and customer service.
  • Participate in Kaizen, Lean, standard-work, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Support production launches, trials, schedule changes, reports, and other assigned Production Control activities.
Education and Training Bachelor's degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant manufacturing experience may be considered. Practical Experience Required 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, supply chain, inventory control, operations, customer service, internship, or co-op experience is beneficial. Knowledge and Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, reporting, data validation, and analysis of large data sets.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, customer-service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate data, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions under changing conditions.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably PLEX or a similar manufacturing system, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, capacity planning, manufacturing operations, and Lean principles is preferred.
Instruction and Guidance Receives general direction from the Production Control Manager and works from company policies, procedures, customer requirements, production schedules, ERP data, and operating priorities. After orientation and training, the employee is expected to work independently, exercise sound judgment, identify risks, and escalate significant issues as appropriate. Decision-Making Responsibilities Evaluates production priorities, schedule adjustments, inventory availability, material shortages, capacity constraints, customer requirements, and process-improvement opportunities. Recommends practical actions and communicates significant risks to management and affected departments. Equipment and Systems CMWA will provide the computer, required software and system access, and other company-approved tools needed to perform the job. Primary systems and equipment include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, PLEX ERP, printers, scanners, telephones, and standard office equipment. Working Conditions Work is performed in office and manufacturing environments. Visits to production areas may involve manufacturing noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. Required personal protective equipment and all company safety rules must be followed. Core Attributes
