Duties Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or other special requirements Design engaging lesson plans using Abeka curriculum that incorporate curriculum development principles, literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional learning strategies Adapt instructional modifications and behavior management techniques to support students with disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders in a classroom setting Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive student support and consistent communication Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through standardized testing, formative evaluations, and observational data collection to inform instruction Manage classroom behavior effectively by implementing positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral therapy strategies suitable for children with special needs Maintain detailed documentation of student development, IEP goals, progress reports, and communication logs to ensure compliance with special education law Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field; advanced certifications in inclusive or special education are preferred Proven classroom experience working with young children in preschool or elementary settings; experience with students with disabilities is highly desirable Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management for students with special needs, and early intervention practices Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies, communication skills development, literacy education techniques, and instructional modifications Ability to integrate educational technology tools effectively into daily lessons and activities Excellent collaboration skills to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists and behavioral health professionals Knowledge of IEP processes, special education law, standardized testing procedures, and parent-teacher communication best practices Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments that celebrate diversity and promote equitable access to quality education Join us in shaping the future by empowering young learners through compassionate teaching and innovative support!
