An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Arlington Public Schools is looking for people to join our after-school. If you are interested in being part of an environment where the children love to spend time and the teachers are engaged with the students and curriculum please apply. Duties include:

Teaching K curriculum Working with the K team to develop the curriculum for the year. General oversight of students Kindergarten through 5th grade Supervision of children in classroom, gym, art, playground and during snack Snack preparation and cleanup General cleanup of areas used by after-school

Hours:

1:00pm - 6:00pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 12:00pm - 6:00pm Wed Possibility of combining this position with lunch/recess position for additional hours Some additional hours for early release days and vacations
