An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

This full-time position comes with the responsibility of working with faculty and staff to support the school's mission and curricular goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and implement student-centered lessons which demonstrate a deep understanding of the academic discipline, curriculum, instruction, child development, and best practices, aligned with the MA state standards, and the goals and mission of Al-Noor Academy.
  • Maintain records of individual student progress and achievement
  • Regularly communicate with families about classroom activities and student progress
  • Establish and implement expectations for student safety and conduct; and procedures and routines, consistent with established school policies
  • Participate in the school community and in all school activities, including but not limited to faculty meetings, professional days.
  • Meaningfully integrate technologies into class lessons during in-school learning, as well as offer online supplemental assignments.
  • Guide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support for positive and productive student behavior
