Position Overview:

Nantucket Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support each child's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Planning and Delivery:

Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that align with state and school standards. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of kindergarten students. Foster a love of learning through creative and interactive activities.

Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement. Use assessment data to inform instruction and provide targeted support. Maintain accurate and detailed records of student performance and development.

Classroom Management:

Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages respect and cooperation. Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and minimize disruptions. Establish routines and procedures that support a structured learning environment.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and administration to enhance the educational experience for students. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities. Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
