What You'll Do:
As a daily substitute, you will perform related duties in the absence of the regular classroom teacher to provide continuity in the day-to-day responsibilities by implementing the teacher's prepared lesson plans.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide instructions according to lesson plans as prepared by the classroom teacher or create lesson plans in absence of a prepared lesson. Uphold all District policies, rules and procedures to which all regular teachers are subject. Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning. Assist the teacher with all aspects of the daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, lunchroom duty, recess, etc.
Maintain confidentiality at all times:
in the classroom, school site and in the community. Ability to present material using a variety of approaches, techniques, and media aids to stimulate interest, enthusiasm, and curiosity about subjects and events. Perform other related duties as requested by the Teacher/Principal.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma Post-secondary education preferred Minimum of 1-year teaching experience and working in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies Bilingual, candidates of color are strongly encouraged to apply Current authorization to work in the

Daily Substitute employees are as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with daily substitute employment.
