Full-time, Faculty Exempt (Temporary) Key School is looking for a long-term substitute to teach Maker Technology and Innovation classes to students ages three through Second Grade from mid-December 2026 through mid-April of 2027. Reporting to the First School Division Head and the Lower School Division Head, the Maker Technology and Innovation teacher provides an age-appropriate, culturally responsive program for early childhood through grade two students.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and execute weekly Maker Tech design and creation lessons with students ages three (Pre-School) through eight years old (Second Grade) Plan and execute bi-weekly introductory Coding lessons for students in First and Second Grade Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers and others to develop interdisciplinary design and creation projects Organize and maintain an innovation lab Attend weekly faculty meetings and scheduled professional development training Collaborate with members of the Innovation and Engineering Department Participate in the Trimester Report writing process.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Minimum 2-5 years teaching experience STEM education, making, and/or innovation experience in an early childhood or elementary setting is preferred

Compensation/Benefits:

The salary range for this position is based on the prorated salary of $47,405-89,005 ($13,193 -$24,770 - prorated) and is derived from several factors that include, but are not limited to, the candidate's work experience and education.
Technical Competencies:
All candidates for teaching positions should be familiar with learning management systems such as Seesaw and Google Classroom and have the ability to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using a variety of digital tools. Key is a Google Workspace for Education school. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar. They should be proficient in virtual communication tools such as Zoom or Google Meet and have basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common technical issues that may arise in the classroom.
Work Schedule/Travel:
Occasionally, there may be business and school functions that will require your presence to work flexible hours, including nights and/or weekends.
