An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations, providing feedback and support to enhance individual learning. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and support student success. Collaborate with other educators and staff to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and school-wide initiatives. Maintain a well-organized classroom that promotes safety and effective learning. Participate in professional development activities to stay current with educational best practices and enhance teaching skills. Address diverse learning needs by implementing differentiated instruction and providing additional support as necessary. Encourage social-emotional development by teaching conflict resolution, teamwork, and respect for others. Engage in school events and activities to foster a sense of community and support the overall mission of Parkview Elementary.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education in the state. Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting. Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for early learners. Positive, high-energy, "can-do" attitude, intelligence, and excellent interpersonal/people skills. Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy, and ability to work effectively and remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. Well organized, diligent and thorough in promptly and efficiently managing multiple tasks. Excel in an environment of continued change and growth with a commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for teaching young children. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must maintain confidentiality at all times. Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of all students. High moral character, and good attendance record. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus. Ability to be an ambassador for the organization at all times.
