An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Split position between Cheyenne and Cherokee Elementary

Qualification:
Valid Michigan Teaching certificate with any of the following endorsements is required: SA, SB, SC, SE, SK, SL, SM, or SV Must be highly qualified to teach K-5 special education. Experience working with diverse student populations preferred. Interest in working in supplemental athletics and/or academic activities preferred. Standard Employee Benefit package available. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job duties, including but not limited to understanding and following safety instructions, responding appropriately to emergency situations, completing documentation, and interacting with English-speaking staff, students, community and supervisors, required.
