9681256-48126 Job Description Bring your passion for education to an elementary classroom, guiding a vibrant group of second-grade students through the remainder of the school year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide meaningful instruction and support for a class of 19 children, where youll foster both academic and personal growth in a supportive, well-resourced environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for second grade. Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture, encouraging respect, collaboration, and a love of learning. Assess student progress with a variety of formative and summative methods, adapting approaches as needed. Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in required meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events. Collaborate with grade-level and school-wide colleagues to ensure the best possible learning outcomes for all students.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certification, Elementary Education (K-5 All Subjects). Prior experience teaching elementary grades in a general education setting. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to build rapport and maintain positive, productive relationships with young children and their families. Flexibility, adaptability, and a solid commitment to student-centered learning. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and instructional skills. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule from 8:35 AM to 3:28 PM, with a half-hour unpaid lunch.
