DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum and the vision of high-quality instruction. ? Establish a classroom culture that supports the non-academic needs of all students to remove barriers that interfere with success. ? Design and implement a wide variety of appropriate instructional activities for students of varying abilities and talents. ? Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. ? Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. ? Observe and evaluate each student's performance and development. ? Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, provide appropriate feedback on work, and use information to adjust teaching strategies according to student needs. ? Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development. ? Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs. ? Implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum based on state and district standards. ? Adapt the curriculum as needed to accommodate the learning styles of individual students.

Ability to motivate students and influence student behaviors. ? Willingness and capacity to hold ongoing instructional-specific conversations designed to focus conversations and efforts on improving student learning. ? Commitment to coordinate instruction within and across grade levels. ? Competence to collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions. ? Ability to help create and thrive in a professional environment of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred:

? Bachelor's Degree or higher in Elementary Education ? Valid MI Teaching Certificate ?

Endorsements:

ZG (K-5 All Subjects, 6-8 Self-Contained), ZP (Upper Elementary), ZO (Lower Elementary) ? Previous classroom teaching experience and/or experience working with elementary-aged children ? Have experience working within or training in a trauma-informed school culture.
