1st year starting salary $33,609 Father Marquette Catholic Academy is seeking a dedicated 1st-grade teacher to join our team. We are looking for a teacher who will create a faith-centered, joy-filled classroom and help instill Catholic values in our students. The teacher will meet students where they are and determine what is needed to help each grow, learn, and discover God's plan for their lives. The ideal candidate will focus on academic excellence, inspiring curiosity, wonder, and a love of learning, while maintaining high expectations. The teacher will help students practice virtue and will see each student as a child of God, meant to spend eternity with him. Essential Functions:

Teach the full 1st-grade curriculum. Instruct students using the approved religious education curriculum. Plan and implement classical lessons to support academic success and to assess student progress throughout the learning process. Maintain effective classroom management strategies. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress and classroom happenings. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning. Participate in school and diocese-provided professional development. Attend all required staff meetings and school events, including those outside school hours. Adhere to diocesan policies and the school procedures in the school handbooks and in the Diocese of Marquette personnel policy manual. Perform other related duties as needed.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Hold a current MI elementary teaching certificate. Understand and support the value of a Catholic, classical education. Willingness to learn to teach classically. Display effective, positive, and team-focused communication. Have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Display good rapport with parents and students. Have the ability to perform tasks within established timelines. Must be able to complete fingerprint scan, federally mandated background check, and VIRTUS training.
