This position will be filled through our third-party staffing partner, EduStaff. The position will serve both elementary schools, with a portion of the week spent at Endeavour Elementary and the remainder at New Haven Elementary. The compensation for this assignment will be $150.00 per day. The position is expected to be Open at the beginning of October. Summary New Haven Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long Term Elementary Substitute for STEM to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is designed for an individual who is passionate about fostering a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among elementary students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging STEM lessons, maintaining a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic and social development of students. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality STEM instruction to students in grades K-5, following the established curriculum and adapting lessons as necessary to meet the diverse needs of learners. Create a stimulating and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and collaboration among students. Develop and implement hands-on activities and projects that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in STEM subjects. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development. Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate STEM concepts across the curriculum and participate in school-wide initiatives. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive and inclusive school community. Manage classroom behavior and ensure a respectful and positive atmosphere conducive to learning. Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other necessary documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM-related field, or a related discipline; teaching certification preferred. Previous experience working with elementary students, preferably in a STEM-related setting. Strong understanding of STEM concepts and the ability to convey these ideas in an engaging manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Familiarity with technology and educational tools that enhance STEM instruction. CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
