Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating early literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence. Use child development principles to guide instructional strategies that meet individual learning needs and promote overall growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behavior management techniques. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school partnerships. Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor developmental milestones and inform instruction. Maintain detailed records of lesson plans, student progress, incident reports, and compliance with mandated reporting laws. Requirements Proven experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings; preschool teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and special education practices. Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management. Familiarity with early literacy education, math instruction for preschoolers, and physical education activities. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners. Certification in first aid and CPR; background in child welfare or daycare experience is advantageous. Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
