Position Summary :
St. Marys School is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated Second Grade Teacher to join our Catholic school community. This position plays an important role in providing engaging, standards-based instruction while intentionally forming students in their Catholic faith. The Second Grade Teacher will create a Christ-centered, nurturing classroom environment that supports academic growth, spiritual development, and preparation for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, including coordination of a meaningful retreat experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction across all subject areas aligned with grade-level standards Foster a classroom environment rooted in Catholic identity, prayer, and Gospel values Prepare students for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in collaboration with parish staff and school leadership Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and sacramental preparation Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Establish a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with colleagues, families, volunteers, and parish partners Participate in school liturgies, faith formation opportunities, professional development, and community events Qualified candidates will : Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid Michigan teaching certification. Experience teaching elementary education is preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills. A willingness to support and participate in the mission and faith life of St. Marys Catholic School in daily classroom practice.
