An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Innocademy Zeeland offers a dynamic TK-8 learning environment that blends the strengths of public education with innovative approaches to curriculum, culture, and global engagement. With both Classic and Spanish Immersion tracks, we emphasize caring about the whole child which encompasses social emotional, academic, and general needs. As a small school with a strong family feel, we are seeking a 3rd Grade Classic Classroom Teacher who enjoys building relationships with students and helping them grow academically and socially. Our teachers have a meaningful voice in how the Academy operates. We create an engaging, flexible learning environment where educators can be creative and students thrive. This includes small class sizes, nature-based learning opportunities, and a balanced calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach approved curriculum in engaging ways that support student curiosity and understanding. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials while providing whole group, small group, and individualized instruction. Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, conferences, phone calls, and other updates. Establish and maintain classroom expectations that support a positive learning environment. Monitor student progress, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning and school initiatives.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an elementary endorsement Experience teaching in an elementary classroom preferred, early elementary experience helpful Understanding of elementary literacy and math instruction Ability to differentiate instruction to support a range of student needs Strong communication and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues Willingness to contribute to a small school environment and community Salary BA Step 0 - $50,000.00 Additional compensation may be available based on verified years of relevant experience.
