Curriculum, Instruction & Data-Driven Practice Cross-Curricular Lesson Design:
Plan and execute rigorous, standards-aligned daily and long-range lesson plans across multiple core disciplines (Literacy, Math, Science, Social Studies).
Special Education Collaboration:
Partner closely with special education teachers and classroom paraprofessionals to ensure all students receive their required services, accommodations, and modifications.
Data Maintenance:
Keep an accurate, complete, and up-to-date grade book, attendance tracker, and progress monitoring system.
Data-Driven Assessment & Intervention:
Regularly utilize diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student performance and identify learning gaps; promptly notice when a student is falling behind, diagnose the root problem, and employ timely differentiation or targeted learning interventions to meet individual needs. 2.
Create a calm, predictable, and positive classroom environment using clear routines, age-appropriate logical consequences, and school-wide behavior frameworks (including HeartMath).
Environment Design:
Arrange the physical classroom layout, seating charts, and visual learning aids to maximize learning and promote independence.
Supervise Transitions & Unstructured Time:
Actively monitor and support students outside of the standard classroom setting:
Hallways & Bathrooms:
Enforcing appropriate voice levels during transitions and ensuring students are acting appropriately in the restrooms.
Lunch:
Sit with their students to provide active supervision, engagement, and to respond quickly to de-escalate any conflicts.
Recess and Gym:
Maintain close physical proximity to students at all times to ensure safety, provide support, and respond quickly to de-escalate any conflicts. 3.
Family & Community Engagement Primary Caregiver Partnership:
Build proactive communication channels with parents/caregivers, providing regular updates on academic milestones, behavior, and social integration.
School Community Participation:
Attend and actively support all major school-wide evening functions, including Parent-Teacher Conferences, Open Houses, and student showcase events.
Evening Availability:
Maintain reasonable availability outside the school day for brief, education-related parent communication regarding evening homework or behavioral concerns. 4.
School Operations & Compliance Communication & Behavior Logs:
Maintain precise, organized records of all contact with parents/caregivers, as well as an accurate log of any behavior interventions used at school for each student.
Operational Duties:
Punctually execute assigned duties: arrival supervision, attendance, dismissal supervision, delivering and collecting permission slips, or other authorization forms.
Professional Growth:
Actively engage in summer pre-service training, weekly professional development, and complete a minimum of 3 professional workshops or seminars annually. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid State Teaching License appropriate for elementary education (K-5). Demonstrated knowledge of core elementary subject matter and evidence-based pedagogical practices. Prior experience working with children in an instructional or classroom setting. Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
