An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

The Soulard School is hiring substitute teachers! This position is part-time, on-call/as needed/as available. We are a small St.

Louis City public charter school with 140 students K-5th grade and a teaching staff of 20+ people. We utilize team teaching, so teachers always have another adult in the room supporting them. Our warm, home-like setting and focus on social-emotional learning creates a unique space where student and teachers work and learn together. Subbing roles include classroom co-teacher, paraprofessional/assistant, and "Extended Core" subjects of PE, Studio Art, Performing Arts and STEAM. Learn more on our website, www.soulardschool.org.
