Job Description

Job Summary The Kindergarten Teacher nurtures the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of young children in a faith-filled environment. This role introduces foundational academic skills while fostering a love of learning and an understanding of Catholic values and traditions.
Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in early literacy, math, science, and social skills Integrate Catholic teachings, prayer, and values into daily classroom activities Create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that reflects Christian love and respect Lead students in daily prayer and participate in liturgies and religious celebrations Support the development of social skills such as sharing, cooperation, and empathy Use hands-on, play-based, and interactive learning strategies Assess student progress through observation, portfolios, and age-appropriate evaluations Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents/guardians Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques aligned with school policies Collaborate with faculty and participate in staff meetings and professional development Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required) Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support the mission of Catholic education Completion of diocesan background check and safe environment training The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
