An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Lead daily English instruction with a strong emphasis on language arts, reading, and writing. Build a genuinely language-rich classroom — rich vocabulary, purposeful discussion, and deliberate language modeling, treating every student as a developing language learner regardless of native fluency. Design playful, hands-on lessons and games that build a real love of reading and writing, not rote grammar drills. Plan and deliver instruction aligned with ILIM's model (Montessori, and/or project-based learning). Foster strong writing skills across genres — storytelling, structured writing, and creative expression. Track student literacy progress and engagement, and communicate regularly with school leadership on classroom needs. Create a warm, energetic classroom culture where children feel safe to read aloud, write freely, and take creative risks. Collaborate with the English Mastery & Literacy Faculty team and other language faculties on cross-curricular projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, English, Literacy, or a related field. Experience teaching elementary-age children, with a strong literacy or language arts focus. Training or hands-on experience in IB, Montessori, and/or project-based learning strongly preferred. Background or coursework in ESOL/language-acquisition methods a strong plus. Background check clearance required (standard for all ILIM staff).
Pay:
$42,404.09 - $55,200.00 per year
