Job Summary
Shining Rock Classical Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated 4th Grade Classroom Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging, and academically challenging classroom where students thrive both academically and socially.
The teacher will plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, monitor student progress, collaborate with colleagues, and build strong partnerships with families to support student success.
Essential Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
Develop standards-aligned lesson plans using the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment.
Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and grades.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Collaborate with teachers, specialists, interventionists, and administrators.
Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and professional development.
Implement effective classroom management strategies.
Supervise students during assigned duties.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
Support the mission, vision, and core values of Shining Rock Classical Academy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Valid North Carolina Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred
Previous elementary teaching experience, preferably in 4th grade.
Experience using student data to drive instruction.
Experience integrating educational technology into the classroom.
