Shining Rock Classical Academy is a close-knit community focused on helping every student shine. Job Summary The Elementary Teacher (Kindergarten-3rd Grade) is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and academically challenging learning environment that supports the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners. The teacher plans and delivers high-quality instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, monitors student progress, communicates regularly with families, and collaborates with colleagues to promote student success. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid North Carolina Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain one). Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Strong classroom management and instructional skills. Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Preferred Experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Experience using data to guide instruction and interventions. Knowledge of educational technology and digital learning tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Student Learning Plan and deliver engaging daily instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Teach English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other required subject areas. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. Use a variety of instructional strategies, hands-on learning experiences, and classroom activities to promote student engagement. Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on student needs. Classroom Environment Create a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that promotes learning and character development. Establish effective classroom routines and behavior expectations. Foster independence, responsibility, and social-emotional growth. Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties. Collaboration Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with grade-level teachers, interventionists, specialists, and administration. Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and professional development. Work collaboratively with Exceptional Children (EC), English Learner (EL), and other support staff to meet student needs. Professional Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress. Maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and school policies. Support the mission, vision, and core values of Shining Rock Classical Academy. Maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Director. Performance Expectations The Elementary Teacher will: Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behavior. Support the school's mission, vision, and continuous improvement efforts. Employment Terms Full-Time, 10-Month Position Salary and benefits based on the school salary schedule and experience.
