An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Role Overview Ridgewood Public Schools seeks a Leave Replacement Kindergarten Teacher at Hawes Elementary School. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Teaching multiple assigned students in accordance with system-wide goals and curriculum objectives Performing other duties within the scope of his/her employment and certification
Working Conditions Location:
Hawes Elementary School, Ridgewood Public Schools Full-time, temporary position and medical benefits.
Start Date:
March 16, 2026
End Date:

Other Requirements:
New Jersey Elementary Teacher Certification Must demonstrate knowledge of upper grade mathematics Must demonstrate ability to differentiate instruction Must have ability to use technology to enhance learning and assess students Must be able to effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writing Must be able to work collaboratively and maintain harmonious relationships with students, colleagues, and parent
