Position Summary:
The Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and creating a safe, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment for students in grades K-5. The ideal candidate is committed to student success, equity, and continuous improvement, and is aligned with CASLV's mission to foster academic excellence and character development.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement standards-based lesson plans aligned with Nevada Academic Content Standards and CASLV curriculum.
Create a classroom culture that supports academic achievement, social-emotional learning, and student ownership of learning.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including English language learners, students with IEPs/504s, and gifted learners.
Maintain high expectations for student behavior and academic performance through proactive classroom management.
Use data from formative and summative assessments to drive instruction and monitor student progress.
Collaborate with grade-level and school-wide teams to support student achievement and professional growth.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and communication with families.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom updates.
Participate in school-wide events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development.

Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
Valid Nevada teaching license or eligibility to obtain one with an elementary endorsement.
Understanding of child development, instructional best practices, and content standards.
Preferred
Two or more years of successful K-5 teaching experience.
Experience in a charter or urban school setting.
Familiarity with data-driven instruction, PBIS, and SEL frameworks.
Bilingual or multilingual proficiency (especially in Spanish, Turkish, or Tagalog).
