What they do
An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description
- Deliver standards-based instruction in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Align instruction to Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS)
- Use assessment data to monitor progress and guide instruction
- Differentiate instruction for diverse learners
- Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment aligned with schoolwide expectations (Be Kind to Self, Others, and the School Community/Environment)
- Implement classroom management and PBIS practices
- Communicate regularly with families
- Participate in collaboration, professional development, and school activities
- Support the mission and values of Bailey Charter School ("Where Your Child Belongs") Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Nevada Department of Education Teaching License (Elementary) or eligibility
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills
- Ability to pass required background checks Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching primary (PreK-2) and/or intermediate grades (3rd-6th grade)
- Charter school experience
