Position Title Third Grade Co-Taught Teacher - Long Term Substitute Required Application Type Teacher / Admin Job Description Rondout Valley Central School District is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute Third Grade Co-Taught Teacher for an approximately six-week assignment. The successful candidate will provide consistent, engaging, and developmentally appropriate instruction while maintaining the established classroom routines and expectations. The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with grade-level colleagues, support staff, administrators, students, and families.

Qualifications:

Valid New York State Certification, Childhood Education 1-6 Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Ability to establish a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Strong organizational, communication, and classroom-management skills. Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred.

General Responsibilities:

The Long-Term Substitute Third Grade Co-Taught Teacher will: Plan and deliver instruction in accordance with the District's curriculum, instructional expectations, and established classroom plans. Provide instruction in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other assigned subject areas. Maintain established classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations. Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of students. Use appropriate assessments and student-work data to monitor progress and guide instruction. Provide timely feedback to students and maintain accurate records of assignments, assessments, attendance, and student progress. Implement students' IEPs, Section 504 plans, accommodations, modifications, and other required supports. Collaborate with grade-level teachers, special education staff, related-service providers, interventionists, and administrators. Communicate appropriately with parents and guardians regarding classroom activities and student progress. Participate in faculty meetings, grade-level meetings, professional learning, parent conferences, and other school activities as required. Supervise students during classroom instruction, transitions, arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other assigned activities. Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Follow District policies, school procedures, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards. Prepare appropriate information and records to support a smooth transition when the regularly assigned teacher returns.
