TBD The Croton-Harmon Union Free School District has an anticipated opening for a 0.6 FTE Elementary ENL Teacher. The ENL Teacher will create and deliver culturally responsive lessons that are both engaging and challenging. They will assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students, families, and colleagues. The teacher will also foster strong connections between the school, home, and community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Differentiated Instruction:
    Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students, considering their cultural backgrounds.
      Curriculum Development:
      Select and organize appropriate materials, resources, and teaching approaches based on the subject matter and student population.
        Assessment:
        Design, administer, and evaluate a variety of formative and summative assessments to measure student progress.
          Academic Support:
          Provide students with academic advice, counseling, and guidance, including individual learning plans.
            Culturally Responsive Practices:
            Use culturally relevant materials and resources to deliver effective instruction in various teaching formats.
              Classroom Environment:
              Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment by utilizing classroom spaces and tools to showcase student work and experiences.
                ESL Methodologies:
                Conduct activities and lessons based on effective ESL teaching methods.
                  Oral Language Development:
                  Encourage and engage students in speaking English.
                    Positive Classroom Culture:
                    Motivate students and create a pleasant learning environment through humor and effective classroom management.
                      Record Keeping:
                      Maintain accurate records of student performance.
                        Communication:
                        Communicate with administrators as needed.
                          Compliance:
                          Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
