$55,000 - $65,000 + School Description Eugenio María de Hostos Charter School (EMHCS) is a K-12 school serving over 1,000 students. EMHCS offers a dual language program at the elementary campus. Our school is fortunate to have staff, students, and parents working together to create partnerships for learning. It is the mission of the Eugenio María de Hostos Charter School to create a safe and nurturing community of learners where students earn the Seal of Biliteracy (English and Spanish), learn to advocate for social justice, and are prepared to enjoy and access what the world has to offer. Summary of Position Eugenio María de Hostos Charter School is seeking passionate and dedicated educators for multiple K-12 teaching positions. Openings include Elementary and Secondary teaching assignments in bilingual education, general education, special education, mathematics, science, Spanish, and substitute teaching. Candidates should be committed to academic excellence, culturally responsive teaching, collaboration, and supporting the diverse needs of all learners.

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to state standards and school curriculum.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student achievement and growth.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instructional practices and monitor student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, support staff, and families to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school initiatives.
  • Support the school's mission of bilingualism, biliteracy, and social justice advocacy.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and positive student relationships.
Requirements Ability to manage and lead staff and support student needs. Experience and ability to work with small or large groups. Must haveexcellent communication skills. Must show strong observational skills. Ability to maintain productive relations and a positive attitude. Must be able to interact positively with others. Must be sensitive to each School's values, beliefs, traditions, and cultural influences. Additional Roles and Responsibilities Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. Exempt positions are to attend their regular school-year schedule, which may include some evenings, weekends, and/or summer responsibilities for training and planning.
Education / Experience
/ Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's preferred). Valid teaching certification. Demonstrated expertise in instruction. Strong knowledge of state standards and assessment frameworks. Proven experience in teacher leadership. Preferred Experience with lesson plans, classroom management and curriculum. Training in research-based instructional practices. Experience working with diverse student populations. Physical Demands This position does require occasional standing and squatting, frequent sitting, and lifting to 10 lbs.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
