Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment for our before & after school program. As the lead educator for our preschool program, you will be responsible for designing developmentally appropriate lessons, managing classroom activities, and building meaningful relationships with children and their families. Your role is vital in laying a strong foundation for early childhood education, promoting social-emotional growth, literacy skills, and early math understanding. Duties Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and incorporate elements of Montessori and other pedagogical approaches Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, independence, and social-emotional learning Manage daily classroom routines, including circle time, play-based activities, snack time, and rest periods Use effective behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and support children's individual needs Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or digital platforms Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student development and incidents Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, assessments, and integrating special education or early intervention strategies when necessary Requirements An Associate's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field; or A child development Associate Credential or other office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period; and one year of experience related to caring for children; or 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, with a plan of study leading to a Child Development Associate Credential, or other office-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period, or an Associate's degree om Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field; and two years of experience related to caring for children. Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting; prior classroom management experience is essential. Strong knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and curriculum development. Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in childhood welfare is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to create an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools. Experience teaching physical education or integrating literacy education into daily activities is a plus.
