Over 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price meals, and 99% identify as African American or Hispanic. Responsibilities Icon Prep teachers are responsible for delivering engaging lessons to the entire class, small groups, or individual students. They track student progress, communicate findings with parents, and prepare students for standardized tests.
Additional responsibilities include:
Designing assessments to measure student understanding Establishing and reinforcing classroom expectations Collaborating with school administration Managing student behavior inside and outside the classroom, including hallways and detention
Required Skills Communication:
Effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
Instructional Ability:
Clearly present new concepts and maintain student engagement.
Writing Skills:
Draft progress reports, parent communications, and other instructional materials.
Patience:
Support students with diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
Creativity:
Develop innovative teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
Interpersonal Skills:
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to foster a positive learning environment. Position Details This is a 10.5-month school-year position.
