St. Jerome School Clock Full Time Cross St. Jerome School Fill 1100 Cleveland, OH St. Jerome School Position Summary St. Jerome School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and faith-filled educator to join its school community for the 2026-2027 school year . The ideal candidate will be passionate about Catholic education and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, structured, and academically engaging classroom environment. The teacher will support the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth of students while helping them live out the school theme: "Rooted in Faith, Growing in Wisdom." The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of St. Jerome School and the Diocese of Cleveland and will work collaboratively with school leadership, faculty, staff, students, and families. Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with Diocese of Cleveland and State of Ohio standards. Create and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment. Provide differentiated instruction to meet the academic needs of all students. Establish clear classroom expectations and consistently implement school behavior and discipline procedures. Assess student learning and use data to guide instruction and intervention. Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and other required documentation. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns. Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, support staff, and specialists. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives. Participate in school Masses, prayer, religious activities, and other faith-based events. Support the Catholic identity and mission of St. Jerome School. Supervise students during assigned duties, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities. Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and special programs. Maintain a safe and orderly classroom and follow all school safety policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher. Valid Ohio teaching license or eligibility to obtain an Ohio teaching license. Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of St. Jerome School. Ability to successfully complete required FBI and BCI background checks. Ability to complete VIRTUS training and maintain required compliance. Willingness to obtain or maintain required Diocese of Cleveland religious certification.
Preferred:
Previous elementary school teaching experience. Experience working in a Catholic school environment. Strong classroom management skills. Experience with differentiated instruction and student data. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
