An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

09/11/2026 This long term substitute Grade 4 teaching position will be available October 15, 2026 through on or about December 23, 2026. The salary will be in accordance with the current Professional Association Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement . Candidates must possess a valid Pennsylvania Elementary K-6, or Grades 4-8 Instructional I or II Certificate for teaching elementary classroom programs.
Further Qualifications include the following:
Strong academic background, deep knowledge of the PA Academic Standards and District curriculum, and skill in data analysis of student performance information, Highly developed classroom management and problem solving skills, Strong technology background, with the emphasis on student learning and professional growth Experience/orientation for Special Education/IEP process and requirements, Ability to creatively prepare, communicate, and present effective instructional strategies with the understanding and empathy for students and the assigned level.
